In the Health, Social Care and Social Sciences department at Eccles Sixth Form College, we offer exciting opportunities for students to study a wide range of Health and Social Care courses from Level 1 to Level 3.

Including our Vocational A-Levels in Criminology, Psychology and Health & Social Care, as well as our newly established T-level in Health with our Nursing Cadet Programme. All of these courses are designed to develop the essential academic and specialised skills needed to progress within this sector.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE

You will study modules such as physiological disorders, dealing with challenging behaviour, caring for children and young people and caring for individuals with additional needs. You will also undertake 100 hours at various placements to give first-hand experience within the health care sector.

The topics studied on T Level Health and Social Care are designed to give you an insight into aspects of the healthcare sector. You will study modules such as the health sector, providing person centred care, health & wellbeing and science concepts. You will also undertake 100 hours at various placements to give first-hand experience within the health care sector

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

CRIMINOLOGY

The Diploma in Criminology will give in depth knowledge and understanding of concepts linked to the criminal justice system. You will explore crime scene to courtroom, criminological theories and crime and punishment. This course is designed to be studied alongside other vocational A-levels.

You will explore many concepts including psychological approaches and applications, introduction to psychopathology and understanding the key approaches and theories in psychology.
