Outline

The T Level in Health (Adult Nursing) is a two-year Level 3 programme designed for students aged 16–19 who are passionate about making a difference in people’s lives through healthcare. Equivalent to three A Levels, this course combines classroom learning with hands-on industry experience to prepare students for careers in adult nursing and the wider health sector.
Students will develop a strong understanding of the health and science sector, including person-centred care, infection prevention and control, safeguarding, anatomy and physiology, communication skills, and clinical practice. Alongside the core content, students specialising in Supporting the Adult Nursing Team will learn practical skills such as monitoring physiological measurements, supporting daily living activities, assisting with clinical tasks, and working effectively as part of a professional healthcare team.
Students will also complete a minimum 315-hour industry placement, giving students valuable real-world experience in healthcare settings such as hospitals, care environments, and community services

Progression

This T Level provides an excellent pathway into higher education, apprenticeships, and employment within the healthcare sector. Students can progress onto university courses such as adult nursing, midwifery, paramedic science, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and other allied health professions.
The qualification also supports progression into higher and degree apprenticeships, including Senior Healthcare Support Worker and Lead Adult Care Worker pathways.

Assessment

Assessment is designed to reflect both academic knowledge and practical healthcare skills. Students will complete a combination of written examinations, an Employer Set Project (ESP), and occupational specialism assessments across the two-year programme.
In Year 1, students are assessed through externally set written exams and a substantial employer-set project that applies learning to realistic healthcare scenarios. In Year 2, students complete practical and professional assessments linked directly to the Supporting the Adult Nursing Team specialism.

Entry Requirements

T-Level students are required to have a minimum of five grade 5s at GCSE, which must include both Maths, English Language and Science.
Additional Information: For our T-Level Nursing programmes school reference and attendance at our T-Level Assessment Evenings are required. These include a Group Interview and, if successful, a 1-2-1 Interview.
