Outline

You will explore all aspects of sports participation and performance through a wide range of exciting topics, including anatomy and physiology, sports coaching, fitness testing and training, sport management, and many other sport-related subjects. The course offers the ideal balance of practical sessions and classroom-based learning, helping you develop both your understanding and your ability to perform.

Assessment

You will be assessed through a variety of methods, including:

  • Written assignments

  • Practical and skills-based assessments

  • Presentations to staff and students

  • Professional discussions

  • Event planning, organisation and management

  • Analysis of sports performance

  • Client consultations

Progression

Many of our students go on to higher level study in areas such as sports injuries, coaching and development, leisure and the fitness industry, sports management, and sports media.

Alternatively, you may choose to progress straight into the industry through higher-level apprenticeships or full-time employment, with the skills and experience to support your next step.

Entry Requirements

Level 1 Vocational Courses:
Applicants should have 4 GCSEs at grades 1–9.

Level 2 Vocational Courses:
Applicants should have 4 GCSEs at grades 3–9.

Level 3 Vocational Courses:
Applicants should have 5 GCSEs at grades 4–9, including English Language or Maths.

Additional Information

We may consider one vocational qualification in place of a GCSE, provided you have achieved a grade 4 in English Language.

Please note: English and Maths resit timetables may affect training and game time.
