Outline
Train. Play. Learn.
With the Manchester United Foundation, you can combine your studies with high-quality football enrichment while working towards a recognised qualification. Choose from a range of courses, including:
Sport and Public Services (Level 1)
NCFE Sport (Levels 2 and 3)
BTEC Sport (Levels 2 and 3)
BTEC Uniformed Public Services (Levels 2 and 3)
You can access the Manchester United Foundation or Salford Red Devils enrichment programmes while studying any Sport or Uniformed Public Services course at Eccles Sixth Form College.
These programmes are designed to enhance your experience and support your development, but they do not guarantee a professional pathway. Our priority is to provide an outstanding education that helps you progress into your chosen career.
Please note: If you need to resit Maths and/or English, this may affect your availability for training and fixtures.
Progression
Your progression will depend on the level of qualification you study, but learners at Eccles Sixth Form College have gone on to a wide range of exciting opportunities. These include university degrees in Sport, Coaching or Public Services, careers in areas such as coaching, fitness, sports development or the uniformed services, and even scholarships to study and play football abroad. For top performers, there may also be employment opportunities with the Manchester United Foundation.
Your time at Eccles Sixth Form College isn’t just about gaining a qualification—it’s about preparing for your next step. You’ll develop academically, socially and personally, building the skills that employers and universities value most.
Whether your goal is Higher Education, employment, or further training, this programme is designed to give you real options—including pathways into semi-professional football with local clubs for talented players.
Entry Requirements

Level 3 Courses: Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including Maths and English
