Business Studies (Vocational)

Outline

There are two pathways available within our business provision:

BUSINESS & MARKETING:

You will study a range of business, retail and marketing modules with a mix of theory and practical activities, equipping you with the necessary skills to perform well within the business environment.

BUSINESS & CAREER READY:

Alongside theoretic knowledge, you will be given the opportunity to complete a six-week internship as part of your course. 

Assessment:

• Written assessments
• Practical assessments and a portfolio of evidence
• Presentations to staff and students
• Synoptic assessments 

Progression

Most of our students can progress onto Higher Education courses either here at the college or at universities across the country. This versatile qualification allows students to continue their studies in a multitude of areas such as business management, finance, or marketing. This course also provides a good understanding of business concepts to assist you within the world of work, whether running your own business or as an employee within a larger organisation. 

Entry Requirements

Level 1 Vocational Courses: Students are required to have 4 GCSEs at grade 1-9.Level 2 Vocational Courses: Students are required to have 4 GCSEs at grade 3-9.Level 3 Vocational Courses: Students are required to have 5 GCSEs at grade 4-9, this must include either English Language or Maths.Additional Information: We will consider 1 Vocational qualification in place of a GCSE as long as a grade 4 is achieved in English Language.

*Fees

Don’t let the cost of studying put you off – most of our students study for FREE, and those who don’t qualify for funding are very often eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan.

Eligibility depends on both the course you have chosen to study and your individual circumstances.
