What You'll Study

From Level 1 through to Level 3, our Animal Management courses provide a thorough understanding of animal care and welfare:
  • Level 1: Learn the fundamentals of animal health, including basic husbandry, feeding, and care for domestic and exotic species.
  • Level 2: Delve into more advanced topics such as animal behaviour, welfare, and nutrition while honing your practical skills in our animal centre and laboratories.
  • Level 3: Master animal health science with in-depth studies on animal biology, veterinary practices, and conservation. You’ll also participate in work placements that will further develop your skills in a real-world environment.

Progression Opportunities

After completing the Level 3 qualification, you’ll have a variety of exciting career paths ahead of you, including opportunities in animal welfare, veterinary nursing, or even exotic animal conservation. Many of our graduates continue their studies at university or secure apprenticeships in animal care, zoos, or veterinary practices.

Entry Requirements
  • Level 1: Open to students with a passion for animals and GCSE grades 1-2.
  • Level 2: Open to students with a passion for animals and four GCSEs at grade 3 or completion of our Level 1 qualification.
  • Level 3: Open to students with a passion for animals and five GCSEs at grade 4 or completion of our Level 2 qualification. (Students wishing to take our Level 3 qualification must have a grade 4 in GCSE English or maths).
