Chicago Bears Bring “Mini Monsters Clinic” to Eccles College

The Bears, known across the pond as the “Monsters of Midway,” are a fiercely successful and competitive team. With a Super Bowl win under their belts as well as nine NFL Championship titles, they command a dedicated fanbase as well as an impressive track record of wins and rank positions. The team toured throughout the UK to primary schools across the country, beginning their tour in Salford facilitated by Salford City College’s Eccles campus.
Over two days, Tillman and other representatives from the team took students from schools across Salford through a range of activities and exercises. Looking at tackling, accuracy in throwing, as well as motivation, endurance, and speed, the energy coming from the team was rubbing off on all the students in a way that was great to see.
More than a few local faces arrived over the two days at Eccles College to show their support to the team and the programme. Former Manchester United player Wes Brown joined the team on the first day, and none other than Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham arrived the second day of training. Local solidarity and support of this kind have always been a defining feature of the character of Salford, and we are thrilled to see this continuously borne out in all the work we do with local young people and organisations.
We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who made this amazing opportunity possible for Salford’s young people.
