Three people at the apprenticeship awards lunch. One is holding his awards certificate. Winners from this year’s Apprenticeship Awards were hosted at the Glasshouse Restaurant at Worsley College for a winner’s lunch to celebrate their achievements and success in their apprenticeship programmes. For a celebratory occasion and as another way to recognise the hard work that all our apprentices have put in over the last year to achieve their win, a stunning lunch was put together by the talented culinary students at the restaurant. The lunch also hosted the employers whose partnerships are so important to the success of the apprentices and the programme as a whole, including those who won the employer categories in the awards.

The Apprenticeship Awards, hosted in February, are an annual awards show bringing together apprentices from across the programme to celebrate and reflect on everything they’ve achieved in the past year. It is a great opportunity for Salford City College to recognise the dedication, commitment and resilience of all the apprentices.

The Winner’s Lunch is another chance to bring the winners together with current and former colleagues to share perspectives and reflect on how their work has been progressing since the awards win. It was a great chance for colleagues from the college, who have supported the apprentices in their work, to follow the progress of the apprentices and employers.

The Culinary Arts students at The Glasshouse designed an elegant and delicious Sunday roast style lunch for the apprentices, employers and colleagues to accompany the reflection and celebration.

A dessert on a plate

Supporting our students in their endeavours always looks different for everyone. The Apprenticeship programme at Salford City College is one way that we nurture opportunities for the future of people in Salford, across the spectrum of professional industries. Celebrating their success is an ongoing part of how we recognise their hard work and continue to give them the best chance at success in their chosen fields.
